The English Grammar Profiler tool highlights the Academic Collocations List, allocating C2 value to most of them. However, for each phrase we use, we first check to see whether the whole phrase already exists in the English Profile inventory lower than C2. If it does, ACL is not marked since a lower value is more accurate for profiling. If all the words are already the same level in the EVP, we also don’t bother marking it as a phrase unless it is from the EGP to save processing time.
